New Brighton Surf Life Saving Club was formed in July 1910, making it the oldest surf lifesaving club in New Zealand.

We are located on Marine Parade on the north side of the pier, opposite He Puna Taimoana Hot Pools.

Our club’s mission is to prevent drowning and injury on the beach over the summer months. We achieve this by providing a volunteer surf lifeguard patrol on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-5pm.

The patrol season runs from Show Weekend in November until the second weekend of March.
