How do I become a Surf Lifeguard at New Brighton SLSC?To gain your Surf Lifeguard Award you need to first join New Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.
You will be taught first aid, resuscitation, practical rescue skills and
you must complete a 400m swim within the time limit. The Club will
provide the training and equipment you need to learn the skills to be
ready to sit the examination. Once you have achieved your Surf Lifeguard Award you can become part of your Clubs' Lifeguard patrol team and a whole world of opportunities are available to you. You can continue to develop your Lifeguard skills through first aid courses, programmes to develop your Lifeguard skills or learn to drive the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB). Patrol Roster for the 2009/2010 SeasonIMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PATROLS:
Patrols have finished for the 2009/2010 Season.
A | Patrol hours are
11am – 5pm
on both Saturday and
Sunday.
B | It is every persons responsibility to ensure
they turn up for their designated patrols. If you cannot attend your
patrol, please organise a person to replace you.
C | Correct Surf Lifeguard uniforms must be worn while on Patrol. If you do not have a full uniform, please contact Andrew Jensen, Lifesaving Manager D | The Patrol Season runs from 21 November 2009 to 7 March 2010.
